{"id":205,"date":"2015-07-17T17:32:08","date_gmt":"2015-07-17T17:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kenosis.org.my\/?p=205"},"modified":"2015-07-25T12:52:33","modified_gmt":"2015-07-25T12:52:33","slug":"exodus-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.kenosis.org.my\/index.php\/2015\/07\/17\/exodus-games\/","title":{"rendered":"The Exodus Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"  alignleft wp-image-225 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kenosis.org.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/Exodusgames-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Exodusgames\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Exodus Games \u00a0which were birthed in Klang many years ago, has now continue under the banner of Klang Valley Alliance (KVA) which comprises of 15 NGO drug rehabilitation centres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Exodus Games \u00a0is a sports carnival organized every two years (biennially)\u00a0 for recovering drug addicts. \u00a0One of its aim is to encourage individuals undergoing drug recovery treatment to lead wholesome and healthy lives. \u00a0\u00a0\u201cWe want to show that former drug addicts are committed and have the willingness to kick the drug habit and to rejoin society\u201d, said former MP of Kelana Jaya Mr Loh Seng Kok, who is the adviser to the Klang Valley Alliance (KVA) and the organizing committee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0\u201c It will also be a good way of promoting interaction and exchanging ideas between participants from different centres and enabling them to help and support one another,\u201d\u00a0\u00a0said Pastor Richard Lee\u00a0\u00a0who is the chairman of KVA.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Exodus Games 2015 held at Matsushita Sport Center, Shah Alam, Selangor<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>A Foreword by the Advisor of KVA<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Straining Toward What is Ahead!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Firstly, \u201cbravo\u201d and well done to all the members of KVA Committee and the Organising Committee of the Exodus Games 2015. It is truly an honour for me to be here and to witness the great progress that has been made by the Committees and residents within the Drug Rehabilitation Centres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I am glad to note that this effort on \u201cExodus\u201d has been well received by many as the Games, not only being part of the social rehabilitation exercise and an avenue for communication and interaction, it is also to affirm their commitment to a sober lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We may feel inadequate for the daunting task to which we are called, wobbling to run the race, fearing not able to complete the rehabilitation program, trembling to face the challenges in life, and \u2026.. But being here today to witness the eager participants in high spirits for the Exodus Games, I say that there is hope, confidence and more so, blessings from above.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is because God never gives us more than we can handle, as in 1 Cor.10:13 \u201cGod is faithful;\u00a0he will not let you be tempted\u00a0beyond what you can bear.\u00a0But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I believe the Committees and the participants have this in mind: I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.
